Project Forecast has published the following project duration benchmarks to help guide the planning and management of major projects.
Construction duration benchmarks can be used to establish the optimistic, likely and pessimistic duration to complete the construction phase for each project. We note that projects are unique and are subject to various local and other factors which can impact the duration of a project some of these being the local environmental, political influences, legislative influences, local market factors and experience of the project team.
Lead time duration benchmarks identify the optimistic, likely and pessimistic lead time or supply duration for a variety of materials, plant, equipment and other supplies. They can be used for conducting PERT and probabilistic analysis (such as monte-carlo) for schedule risk analysis.
